Not often I feel an urge to write about security updates. But I recognize the paranoia that many people have about security and I suspect that this one that is going to nab a few people. A little caution goes a long way.
My thoughts return to a thesis that I read earlier this week comparing the need for antispam measures to take a similar approach to protection as public health has to say the HIV AIDS virus. Public education has as much to do with infection as sophisticated protection and cures. I wonder sometimes if like the simple public health measures, malware education has similiar problems in being popular. There isn't a lot of money to be made by public education. It is in the best interests of anticipatory and antivirus makers to keep the level of paranoia relatively high. That feeds directly into this trojan.
